Reflux
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disorder (GORD) occurs when the muscle at the top of the stomach is weakened, allowing acid to move up the oesophagus and throat. You may know this sensation as heartburn, indigestion or reflux. Over time, this can cause serious complications such as ulcers, bleeding or cancer if left untreated. Common symptoms of GORD include:
Burning or pain in the throat or chest
Acidic mouth taste
Burping
Night-time cough
