Eosinophilic oesophagitis

Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is when white blood cells build up in the lining of the oesophagus. This causes injury and inflammation, which can result in pain and difficulty with swallowing. Typically, the immune reaction in your oesophagus is worsened by a trigger food. Common symptoms of EoE include:

  • Chest pain

  • Heartburn

  • Painful swallowing

  • Food getting stuck in the throat
